Walker's Paradise

The village of Sneem is situated on the famous Ring of Kerry, an area of outstanding beauty and a Walker's Paradise. The locality is perfect for all levels of walking enthusiast from those who prefer to stroll to those who seek bigger challenges. We also offer themed walks that explore the geological, archaeological, historical and cultural features of the Kerry Geopark.


Available walks include several loop walks in the locality of Sneem, the famous Kerry Way, the MacGillycuddy Reeks mountain range, and Ireland’s highest mountain Carrauntoohil.

The famous Kerry Way runs through the Ring of Kerry. This network of walking routes of varying length, terrain and difficulty from easy and moderate to more strenuous and challenging. The trails offer spectacular views of the Kenmare Bay, lakes and Mountains. Despite its outstanding beauty the route it is still a very quiet walk where you will be on your own in the wilderness for most of the day.

The MacGillycuddy Reeks mountain range is located close by and provides for those who wish to push themselves a little more. Those looking for a real challenge can climb Carrauntoohil, the highest mountain in Ireland
